Should schools have mental health days?

My daughter's school has been talking about mental well-being lately, especially after all the stress of online classes. I was wondering, do you think schools should actually give mental health days? Like, just a day off when kids feel overwhelmed?

While I believe in holistic well-being, including good nutrition for mental health, the concept of dedicated mental health days for students is very valid. Academic pressure can be immense. Maybe schools could also include more focus on stress-reducing activities and balanced meals in their curriculum.

I think it sounds like a good idea. Sometimes the pressure at school can be really overwhelming. But how would it actually work? Would students need a doctor's note, or could they just take one when they feel they need it? I'm curious about the practical side.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. As someone managing thyroid issues, I know how interconnected mind and body are. Allowing mental health days could help students cope better. It should be a recognized part of health, just like sick leave, with proper follow-up if needed.

Honestly, I wish this was a thing when I was in school! The pressure used to build up so much. Sometimes you just need a day to reset and not feel like you're falling behind. It could really normalize talking about mental well-being, which is a great thing.

Definitely! Sometimes my brain just needs a 'do not disturb' sign. A day off to recharge could prevent a full-blown meltdown. Plus, who wants to learn algebra when their brain is contemplating the meaning of life? Not me! Let's give these kids a break!

Having personally struggled with exam stress in college, I can say mental health days are crucial. Sometimes you just need a break from the constant grind to process things, or just exist without pressure. It helps prevent burnout and allows you to return to studies refreshed.

Yes, 100% yes! 🥳 It's high time mental health gets the same importance as physical health. Students face so much pressure these days. A day to just breathe and reset can make a huge difference. It's a step towards a healthier generation! ✨

My daughter often comes home very stressed from school, especially during exams. I think mental health days would be so beneficial. It's about teaching children that it's okay to prioritize their well-being, and sometimes a pause helps them perform better in the long run. We should support it.
