Should i use an ice pack for a fever?

My grandson has a high fever. My bahu puts a cold cloth on his forehead, but my neighbour said an ice pack is better. Should I use an ice pack for his fever, is it safe?

Ice pack for fever? Haha, I'd probably just fall asleep with it on my head and wake up with a brain freeze. 😅 Seriously though, better to use a damp cloth, like everyone says. Ice packs feel too aggressive when you're already feeling horrible.

My health app actually recommends lukewarm compresses for fever, not ice packs. Ice can cause shivering which can actually *increase* your body temperature. A damp cloth on your forehead or neck is more effective and comfortable for cooling down safely.

Na, ice pack directly mat lagao. Thanda paani ka patti (damp cloth) zyada achha hai. Doctors bhi yahi bolte hain. Ice se thand lag sakti hai aur shivering badh sakti hai, haan na? Lukewarm water is better.

It's generally advised to use a lukewarm damp cloth or sponge bath for fever, not an ice pack directly. Ice can cause your body to shiver, which can actually raise your core temperature. A gentle cool-down is more effective and safer.

Listen, for fever, an ice pack is usually too harsh. It can make your body try to warm up even more by shivering. A damp cloth with lukewarm water on your forehead or neck is a much better and safer way to help cool down. Take care, bhai/behen.

Naah yaar, ice pack se toh body aur chill ho jayegi. Actually, it's better to use a cloth dipped in normal water, not too cold. Doctors always say lukewarm water for sponging. Ice can make you shiver and increase the temperature, so avoid it.

No, it's not recommended to use an ice pack for fever. It can cause vasoconstriction, making you feel colder and shiver, which can actually make your body temperature rise. A lukewarm sponge bath or damp cloth on the forehead or armpits is a better way to bring down fever.

For fever, it's safer to use lukewarm compresses rather than ice packs. Too much cold can cause shivering, which is not good when you have a fever. Also, ensure you stay hydrated, very important, especially for me with diabetes. Drink plenty of fluids.

From a fitness perspective, shocking your body with extreme cold during a fever isn't ideal. It can trigger shivering, which consumes energy. A lukewarm bath or a cool, damp towel on the pulse points is a gentler way to help bring your temperature down while conserving energy for recovery.

No, don't use an ice pack for a fever directly. That's a common misconception. It can cause your blood vessels to constrict and actually make it harder for your body to release heat, plus it makes you shiver. Stick to lukewarm water compresses or sponge baths. If the fever is high, see a doctor, don't experiment.

Hey, don't stress too much! For fever, skip the ice pack. It might feel good for a second, but it can actually make you shiver and feel worse. Just use a cloth dipped in room-temp or slightly cool water on your forehead or neck. Much gentler and safer! ❤️
