Should i feed my newborn after projectile vomiting?

My newborn had a scary episode of projectile vomiting a few minutes ago. I'm really anxious and want to make sure she's getting enough, but also don't want to upset her stomach more. Should I feed my newborn after projectile vomiting?

Nah, bro, don't feed right after. Mera chhota bhai jab newborn tha, same hua tha. Doc ne bola tha wait for some time, like 30-60 mins. Fir thoda sa paani ya ORS, then light feed. Agar baar baar ho raha hai toh doc ko dikha de.

Oh god, I remember the first time my baby projectile vomited, I completely panicked! But turns out it can be common. Don't feed immediately. Give it a bit of time for their tummy to settle, maybe an hour. Then try a very small amount and see how they do. Keep an eye on them for any other symptoms.

For a newborn, this is quite serious. My doctor always stresses caution with any digestive issues, especially for infants. Do not feed without consulting your pediatrician first. Their tiny systems are delicate, and dehydration or other issues can develop quickly. Seek medical advice.

Having gone through this with both my kids, here's what works: First, clean up the baby and make sure they are comfortable. Wait for at least 30-45 minutes. Then, offer a tiny bit of ORS or breastmilk/formula, like half an ounce. If that stays down, you can slowly increase over the next hour. If the vomiting continues or the baby seems very unwell, it's time for the doctor.

It's tough to see your newborn vomit. Try to let their stomach rest for a while. Your doctor will have the best advice on when to feed again.

Projectile vomiting can be a sign of various things in newborns, some of which require medical attention. While observing the baby for other symptoms like fever or lethargy, it's prudent to not feed immediately. The best course of action is always to consult your pediatrician for personalized advice rather than relying on generalized tips.

Understand your concern for the little one. After such a forceful expulsion, the body needs to recalibrate. Gently clean the baby, keep them calm. Perhaps a gentle pat on the back. It's usually best to let the digestive system settle before attempting another feed. Observe their natural cues.
