Should i exercise with sciatica pain?

My sciatica pain has been bothering me for a few weeks now. My physiotherapist suggested some light exercises, but sometimes the pain feels worse during or after. Should I exercise with sciatica pain, or is it better to rest completely when it hurts?

Na bhai, aise pain mein toh exercise karne se aur badh jaayega. Sciatica bahut bad pain hai. Pehle doctor ko dikha, woh Physiotherapy suggest karenge. Kuch gentle stretching aur walking, woh bhi doctor ki salaah se. Khud se kuch mat karna, warna aur dikkat ho jaayegi.

My uncle had sciatica and he was told to do specific, very gentle exercises *only* after consulting a physio. Like, definitely not regular gym stuff. He said some exercises actually made it worse if done incorrectly. So, definitely talk to a doctor and a proper physical therapist first!

Beta, sciatica ka dard bahut takleef-deh hota hai. Aise mein zor-zabardasti nahi karni chahiye shareer se. Pehle vaidya ya doctor ko dikhao. Woh garam tel ki malish ya kuch halki phulki kasrat bataenge, woh bhi dheere dheere. Jaldi mat karo, aaram se theek hoga.

For something like sciatica, which is nerve pain, common exercises can actually worsen it. My neighbour had it and spent a lot on treatments because he kept trying general exercises. The practical solution is to immediately see an orthopaedic doctor. They will usually prescribe medication and then send you to a physiotherapist who will teach you specific, safe stretches. Don't mess with nerve pain without expert guidance.

Yaar, sciatica pain is no joke, it's super irritating. Actually, you should absolutely *not* just start exercising on your own. It needs a proper doc consultation, maybe an MRI, to understand the nerve compression. Then a physiotherapist will give you very specific, gentle stretches and strengthening exercises. Doing the wrong thing will just aggravate the nerve more, trust me.

Exercise with sciatica? My back just groaned in sympathy! 😂 Seriously though, no. Sciatica is not just a 'sore muscle' you can work through. It's nerve pain. You need a proper diagnosis from a doctor, then a physical therapist will give you *specific* exercises. Doing the wrong thing can make it ten times worse. Been there, done that, suffered. Don't be me!
