Is yogurt bad for diabetics?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with diabetes. I love eating dahi, but now I'm worried. Is yogurt something I should avoid as a diabetic?

Plain yogurt can actually be quite good for diabetics because of its protein and probiotics. Just make sure it doesn't have added sugar.

Plain, unsweetened yogurt is generally fine for diabetics and even for those with thyroid issues. It's a good source of protein and calcium. The problem arises with sweetened or flavored yogurts, which are high in sugar. Always check labels and regularly follow up with your doctor for diet advice.

Nah, not all yogurt is bad. My nani is diabetic, and her doc said plain dahi is totally okay. It's the sugary ones, like those fancy fruit yogurts, that are a big no-no. Plain curd is actually good for you, protein and all.

Na beta, dahi (yogurt) is not bad at all, especially plain home-set dahi. It's good for the stomach and has protein. Just don't put too much sugar in it if you have diabetes. Plain dahi is good.

My doctor specifically told me that plain, unsweetened yogurt (especially Greek yogurt) is actually beneficial for diabetics. It has a low glycemic index, provides good protein, and probiotics. The issue is with fruit-flavored or sweetened yogurts, which can have a lot of hidden sugar. Always read the nutrition label carefully.
