Is whole grain good for diabetics?

My wife and I both have diabetes, and we're trying to make healthier food choices. We've heard that whole grain products are better for us. Is whole grain really beneficial for diabetics compared to refined grains?

Honestly, I can't give medical advice, but my dad replaced white rice with whole wheat daliya and brown rice on his doctor's advice. We noticed his sugar levels became much more stable after a few weeks. It really helped him manage his daily readings better.

Along with deep breathing exercises every morning, changing to whole grains like ragi and jowar worked wonders for my health. It keeps the body calm and digest food slowly. Just make sure to eat mindfully and keep a check on your portion sizes.

I have high BP issues, and my doctor told me that both BP and sugar need a complete lifestyle change. Whole grains like oats and brown rice are great, but please get your regular HbA1c tests done first. Just changing food won't help if we don't do daily walks and keep taking our prescribed meds.

Haan na, whole grains are actually much better than normal maida or polished rice. I switched my whole family to whole wheat chapati and brown bread, and the difference in energy is so good. Just make sure to consult your doc once about how much to eat.

I was also reading about this because my sugar border pe hai and I get really nervous about eating carbs now. Do you guys also feel super bloated when you switch to whole grains initially? I want to try whole wheat and oats but I'm scared it might spike my levels.
