Is white noise good for sleep?

I have trouble falling asleep at night due to city noise. A friend suggested trying a white noise app. Does white noise actually help with sleep, or is it just a temporary distraction?

Haan na, actually it works really well for blocking out the street noise. I play rain sounds on my phone every night. It puts me to sleep so quickly, you should try it once.

I used to wake up at every small sound in my apartment complex. White noise really helped, but the trick is to place the speaker near the window or door where the noise comes from, not right next to your head. Keep it consistent and your brain will get used to it.

It absolutely is a game changer if you live in a noisy area. I have been using a white noise speaker for over a year to drown out the traffic. Just make sure the volume is below 50 decibels so you don't hurt your ears.

We used to sleep like babies with just the natural hum of the cooler in summers. These modern white noise sounds are basically the same thing. Don't worry, it is a very safe way to get some peaceful rest.

While white noise can help you relax, please also check if there is an underlying issue. My sleep was terrible until I got my thyroid levels tested and adjusted my dosage. Keep an eye on your hormonal health too alongside these sleep aids.

I want to try this because my mind just won't shut off at night. Does anyone else feel like white noise might make them feel a bit claustrophobic or is it actually relaxing? Would love to know your experiences.

I was so scared that using white noise would make my brain dependent on it forever. But actually, it really helped calm my night-time anxiety when I tried it. Just start with a very low volume so you feel safe and comfortable.

It can help you mask noise, but if you are constantly struggling to fall asleep, don't ignore it like I did. I thought it was just stress, but it turned out to be severe sleep apnea. Please consult a doctor if your sleep issues are persistent.
