Is whiskey bad for diabetics?

My blood sugar levels have been a bit high lately, so the doctor advised me to cut down on alcohol. I enjoy a peg of whiskey occasionally. Is whiskey particularly bad for diabetics, or are all alcoholic drinks similar?

Bhai, alcohol is not good for diabetes at all. It can suddenly lower your sugar levels or spike it if mixed with sweet sodas. Better to avoid it and stay healthy for your family.

Agree with others, alcohol is very risky with diabetes. It can cause dangerous overnight hypoglycemia, so please check your sugar levels before sleeping.

It can be quite tricky! 🥃 If you must drink occasionally, never do it on an empty stomach and avoid sugary mixers. Keep checking those levels!

Drinking whiskey can harm your liver and pancreas which makes diabetes worse. Instead, drink warm cinnamon water daily to manage sugar, and please consult your doctor if your readings fluctuate too much.

My uncle has diabetes and he completely stopped whiskey because it messed up his meds. Honestly, it's not worth the risk, safety first always.

I used to think a small peg of whiskey wouldn't hurt, but my fasting sugar went up to 220 the next day. I had to strictly cut it out to get my health back under control.

I know how hard it is when you want to enjoy social gatherings with friends but feel left out. But trust me, protecting your body from sudden sugar crashes is much more important than fitting in.
