Is watermelon juice good for diabetes?

My wife has gestational diabetes, and we're looking for hydrating options. I was thinking of making watermelon juice for her. Is watermelon juice a good option for diabetics, or is it better to eat the fruit whole?

Absolutely not. Juicing removes all the fiber from the watermelon, leaving you with just liquid sugar that will spike your blood glucose instantly. If you have diabetes, avoid the juice completely and talk to your doctor.

I drank watermelon juice thinking it was healthy and natural, but my sugar shot up dangerously high and I had to rush to the doctor. Please get a proper HbA1c test and consult your doctor before trying such juices.

Take care of your health with patience and positive thoughts. Watermelon juice can cause quick fluctuations in your body, so it is better to avoid it and stick to what your physician has prescribed for you.

I am newly diagnosed with diabetes and still learning what to eat. My doctor said to avoid all fruit juices, including watermelon. Does eating the whole fruit in very small amounts make a difference, or should I avoid it entirely too?

Please don't believe any online posts saying watermelon juice is safe for diabetes. Juicing is bad for blood sugar because it has zero fiber. Always consult your endocrinologist instead of trusting random internet advice.
