Is watermelon good or bad for diabetics?

I've been recently diagnosed with diabetes. Everyone tells me different things about fruits. Is watermelon something I can eat, or should I stay away from it completely? Is it good or bad for diabetics?

I used to eat fruits like watermelon thinking they are natural and harmless, but my sugar shot up to 350 and I had to be hospitalized. Please don't make my mistake, get your HbA1c checked and consult your doctor before eating sweet fruits.

My endocrinologist explained that watermelon has a high glycemic index of about 72, which can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar. However, its glycemic load is low because of the high water content. He recommended limiting it to just a few pieces occasionally.

Watermelon is mostly water but has fast-digesting simple carbs. If you are highly active or do weight training, your body can handle it better, but otherwise, you should stick to lower GI fruits like apples or berries.

Keep a peaceful mind and take care of your body. Watermelon can be enjoyed in very tiny portions as a blessing of nature, but always respect your doctor's advice and monitor your health closely.

Whether watermelon is good or bad depends entirely on your current sugar control and portion size. It does have a high glycemic index, so consulting your diabetologist to understand how it fits into your specific meal plan is the best approach.

Along with regular pranayama to reduce stress and improve metabolism, eating mindfully is key. Watermelon is very refreshing but has high sugar, so please take only a small cup and discuss it with your physician.

I try to manage my diabetes with regular diet control. Eating watermelon in very small quantities during daytime is generally fine, but never make juice out of it. Drinking juice will definitely spike your sugar quickly.

Haan, sugar patients ko tarbooz se thoda door hi rehna chahiye kyunki isme meetha bohot hota hai. Agar khana hi hai toh ek do slice se zyada mat lena, nahi toh sugar badh jayegi na.
