Is vomiting normal?

My grandson ate some street food and now he's been vomiting continuously for a few hours. My daughter is panicking, but I remember as kids we used to throw up all the time. Is vomiting usually normal or should we take him to the doctor right away?

Our body has its own beautiful way of throwing out toxins when something is not right inside. Do not get too anxious or lose your peace of mind, just rest and let your body heal. Please take gentle care of yourself, sip some warm water, and see a doctor if your body feels too weak.

Vomiting once in a while due to a heavy meal or indigestion can happen, but it shouldn't be ignored if it keeps repeating. I usually give some warm ginger tea or chew on a piece of fennel seed to soothe the stomach. But if you cannot even keep water down, skip the home remedies and consult a doctor.

Honestly, I used to panic like crazy even if I threw up just once, thinking it was some major illness. But my doctor reassured me that sometimes it is just a mild reaction to some food that didn't suit you. Just monitor how you feel over the next few hours; if it stops, you are likely fine.

In our younger days, we would eat something heavy and sometimes vomit, and our elders would give us simple buttermilk or thanda paani to rest the stomach. However, nowadays food and water quality are different, so one must be careful. If the vomiting does not stop by evening, a doctor must be consulted.

Look, an occasional episode of vomiting because of a bad stomach or motion sickness is fairly common. But if it is accompanied by high fever, severe abdominal pain, or blood, then it is definitely not normal. Keep yourself hydrated with ORS and get checked by a general physician if it continues.

Vomiting is a sign that something is irritating your gastrointestinal tract or your system is under stress, so it shouldn't be taken lightly. It might be food poisoning, a viral infection, or something else entirely. It is always safest to visit a local clinic and let a proper doctor diagnose you.

My son used to throw up every time he had a mild throat infection or cough, and it used to scare me so much. I realized that some children just have a sensitive gag reflex when they are sick. Keep track of any other symptoms like fever or lethargy, and definitely call your pediatrician to be safe.

I used to have unexplained nausea and vomiting episodes, and after getting many tests done, we found out it was linked to my thyroid levels being completely off. Please don't just ignore frequent vomiting as simple acidity. Get your routine blood work and thyroid tests done to find the actual root cause.
