Is vomiting a sign of hypothermia?

We went trekking in the mountains last week, and one of our group members started feeling extremely cold, confused, and then vomited. Someone said it might be hypothermia. Is vomiting a sign of hypothermia?

Hmm, vomiting usually isn't the first thing we think of with hypothermia, which is when your body gets too cold. Main signs are usually shivering, confusion, slow breathing. If someone is vomiting and also very cold, it could be something else going on, or their body is just reacting badly to the cold. Best to get checked by a doctor, especially if they're feeling really unwell.

Honestly, I haven't heard of vomiting as a primary hypothermia symptom. Usually it's more about feeling confused, numb, or shivering a lot. If someone's got both, like feeling really cold AND throwing up, it sounds like they need medical attention asap. Just being cold won't usually cause vomiting unless it's very severe. Maybe some other infection or food issue too?

Actually, my friend had a really bad case of food poisoning a few months ago, and because it was winter and she kept throwing up, she also got very cold and shaky. Doc said the vomiting and dehydration made her body temperature drop. So indirectly, yes, vomiting can make u feel super cold and weak. But the vomiting itself isn't a direct hypothermia symptom, more like a cause of the body getting cold. Pls see a doc.

As someone who has to monitor my body closely, I'd say no, not directly. Hypothermia is more about the body's core temperature dropping, leading to confusion, slurred speech, shivering. Vomiting can be a sign of so many things, like stomach bug or even low blood sugar sometimes if not managed properly. If someone is both cold and vomiting, please take them to a doctor to figure out what's really going on, don't delay.

Oh, really? I always thought hypothermia was just about being too cold and shivering a lot. Is vomiting a sign of like, any kind of extreme cold, or just when it's very severe? What other things should we look out for if someone is getting hypothermic?
