Is vaseline good for piles?

Been dealing with piles for a few months now, and it's quite uncomfortable. Someone at the chemist suggested applying Vaseline for some relief. Is it actually helpful, or should I avoid it?

My son had some issues like this earlier, and I remember our doctor said to focus on diet and fibre first. Vaseline can maybe help with the external irritation a little, but it's not a cure. Make sure to keep things clean and use what the doctor prescribes, don't just rely on home remedies for long.

Please be very careful with self-medication for piles. I tried Vaseline once thinking it would help, but it actually made things worse for me because it wasn't the right solution for my type of issue. Better to see a doctor first and get a proper diagnosis, they can recommend something specific and safe.

Vaseline is primarily a lubricant and a skin protectant. While it might provide some temporary relief from discomfort or itching by reducing friction, it won't actually treat the underlying cause of piles. For proper management, consulting a proctologist or a general physician is the best approach to get tailored advice.

Honestly, I tried it once years ago when I had some discomfort. It felt a bit better for a while, but it wasn't a lasting solution. Later, I saw a doctor who gave me specific medication, and that actually helped properly. For something like piles, professional advice is important.

For piles, it's mostly about digestion and bowel movements, ya? So, high fiber diet, lots of water is key. If you're physically active, that also helps keep things smooth. Vaseline might just be a temporary soothing thing, but actual prevention comes from inside. Don't skip your water intake!

It can provide temporary relief from dryness/irritation but doesn't solve the core problem. See a doctor for proper treatment.
