Is typhoid viral?

A friend of mine just got diagnosed with typhoid, and everyone is talking about it. I always thought it was caused by some bacteria, but someone at work said it's a viral infection. Can you clarify if typhoid is viral?

Haha, nah, not viral like a trending Instagram reel! Typhoid is actually bacterial, caused by Salmonella Typhi. So antibiotics are the VIP treatment, not just waiting it out like a common cold. 😉

Ho na, it's a common confusion. But typhoid is actually a bacterial infection, not viral. It's caused by Salmonella Typhi. That's why antibiotics work for it. Always best to confirm with a doctor, haan na.

I totally get why you'd ask that, many people get confused! But no, typhoid fever is caused by bacteria, specifically Salmonella Typhi, not a virus. It needs specific antibiotic treatment.

Oh, I always thought it was viral too! This is new info for me. Does that mean it spreads differently? I get anxious about these things. Has anyone else felt this confusion?
