Is turmeric bad for your liver and kidneys?

My husband has some kidney issues, and my father has a history of liver problems. We use a lot of turmeric in our cooking, but I'm now wondering if it could be harmful for their organs. Should we cut back on it?

No, generally turmeric in culinary amounts is not bad; in fact, it's often beneficial due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The concern arises with high-dose supplements, which can potentially impact liver and kidney function in susceptible individuals or interact with medications. For specific health conditions, always consult a specialist, like a hepatologist or nephrologist.

I'm still learning about all these health things. I thought turmeric was always good. So, for the liver and kidneys, is it only bad if we take it in very large quantities as supplements, or even small amounts if there's already a problem? My parents use it a lot, so I'm wondering.

For liver and kidneys, you cannot take any risks. Turmeric in your daily sabzi is usually not a problem, it's a natural spice. But if you have any existing conditions related to these organs, or if you're taking those concentrated turmeric supplements, then you must consult a specialist doctor. Get clear answers from them, don't rely on general info.

Oh, this makes me anxious! I use turmeric in all my cooking because it's supposed to be so healthy. But now, thinking about liver and kidneys... does anyone else worry if their daily cooking amount is too much? Or is it really just the supplements that are the issue? I don't want to accidentally harm myself.

In my experience, turmeric has always been used in our family's cooking, and we've never had liver or kidney issues related to it. In fact, my grandmother swore by its healing properties. But this is just from personal observation, not medical advice. If you have specific concerns or conditions, a doctor is the only one who can advise properly.

I had a scare once with liver enzymes, so I'm very careful now. Turmeric in regular food is fine and even good for you. But if you have existing liver or kidney issues, or if you're thinking of taking high-dose turmeric supplements, you absolutely must talk to a doctor. Don't take any chances, get it properly checked.
