Is thyroid issue hereditary?

My mother and grandmother both have thyroid problems, and I'm a bit worried for myself. Is having a thyroid issue something that can be passed down in the family, like is it hereditary?

Yes, it can run in families, haan na. My mother also has thyroid and now even my younger sister got diagnosed with it recently. But don't stress too much, with proper routine it is very easily manageable.

It definitely is hereditary in many cases. My father had hypothyroid and I also developed it last year, but I just got my levels back to normal with regular medicine. Just keep tracking your blood reports and you'll be perfectly fine.

Yes, it is hereditary, and it used to make me feel so guilty thinking I might pass it on. But honestly, learning that it is so common and treats well helped me calm down. Please don't be too hard on yourself, it is not your fault.

It does run in families, and ignoring it can lead to complications like severe fatigue and heart issues. My family history made me neglect my symptoms early on, which was a mistake. Please get your thyroid levels checked by a doctor if you have a family history.
