Is there vomiting with hand foot and mouth?

My little one has developed these spots on her hands and feet, and her mouth is also a bit sore. The pediatrician mentioned hand, foot, and mouth disease. I'm wondering if vomiting is also a common symptom with it, as she threw up once this morning.

Yes, while the main symptoms are rashes and mouth sores, some children do vomit due to high fever or throat pain. My mother suggested cold milk, but our pediatrician advised giving small sips of ORS to keep the child hydrated. Trust your doctor's medicine.

It is a painful virus for the little ones, and sometimes their stomach gets upset too. Stay calm, keep a positive environment at home, and gently give them coconut water to soothe their system. This phase will pass soon.

Vomiting is not the primary symptom of HFMD, but it can occur due to fever or dehydration. If your child is throwing up frequently and cannot retain any fluids, skip home care and visit the clinic immediately to prevent severe dehydration.

My little nephew had HFMD last month and he actually vomited a couple of times because of the high fever and severe throat irritation. It is normal, but if the vomiting is continuous, you should definitely take them to the doctor.

Vomiting can happen occasionally if the child cannot swallow due to painful mouth blisters. A simple and practical solution is to feed them cold, soft foods like curd rice or custard in very small portions. Don't force them to eat heavy meals.

In my years of raising children, I have seen that viral fevers often cause a bit of nausea and vomiting. Don't worry, just focus on keeping their mouth clean and giving them plenty of liquids so they don't get dehydrated.

Hey, don't stress too much! It is quite common for kids to feel nauseous when they have those painful throat sores. Just give them cold liquids or ice creams to soothe the throat, and they will feel much better.
