Is there pain after a root canal?

My dentist said I need a root canal for a bad tooth and I'm quite worried. Will there be a lot of pain after the procedure? I'm scared about the recovery part, na.

Yeah bro, there is some mild soreness for 2-3 days after the anesthesia wears off. The dentist will give you painkillers, so just take those and you'll be totally fine, don't worry.

My dentist explained that mild tenderness is normal because the surrounding tissue gets inflamed during the procedure. He prescribed a specific anti-inflammatory pill for three days and advised me not to chew from that side until the final crown is placed.

Yes, there is a little pain, but it goes away. Since I have diabetes, my dentist told me to be very careful with my oral hygiene post-procedure to avoid any infection, and to choose sugar-free soft foods while healing.

I had a root canal last month and was so scared! The actual procedure didn't hurt at all, but there was a dull ache for a couple of days after. Applying an ice pack on the cheek really helped me handle it easily.

Actually thoda pain toh hota hai yaar, especially when you try to chew. But it is mostly just soreness, not that sharp toothache you had before. Just stick to soft foods like khichdi for a couple of days.
