Is there any cure for dengue fever?

Dengue is a big problem in our area every monsoon, and it really scares me. If someone gets dengue, is there a definitive cure for it, or is it more about supportive treatment?

There is no specific medicine to kill the dengue virus, it just has to run its course of 5-7 days. I had it last year and the only thing that saved me was maximum hydration. Drink lots of coconut water, ORS, and fresh papaya leaf extract if your platelets are dropping, but keep checking your blood counts daily.

When my son got dengue, everyone told us to give him juices and coconut water constantly. But if you have diabetes, you have to be very careful with sweet juices as they can spike your sugar levels badly. Stick to salted lime water, plain water, and light dal soup to stay hydrated without messing up your glucose.

Dengue is so bad yaar, literally drains all your energy. Actually there is no magic cure or capsule for it, you just have to rest and keep drinking water or coconut water. Just keep an eye on the platelet count and don't take any random painkiller without asking the doc.

I was just reading about this yesterday because there is a huge outbreak in our locality. Apparently, it is all about managing the fever and keeping fluids high until the body fights it off. I hope you or whoever has it gets well soon, sounds really exhausting.

Dengue has no direct antiviral cure, we only treat the symptoms like fever and pain. Strictly avoid taking painkillers like Brufen or Voveran as they can dangerously lower your platelets; only take plain paracetamol after asking your doctor. Rest is your best friend right now.
