Is there always fever with flu?

I've been feeling quite ill with body aches and a cough, but no fever. My wife thinks it's flu. But doesn't flu always mean you'll have a fever? Can you get the flu without one?

I have been feeling extremely weak with a severe body ache and dry cough, but I don't have any fever at all. Has anyone else experienced a proper flu without a high temperature? It is making me quite anxious and confused about what is wrong.

Please do not ignore severe body aches and cough even if you don't run a fever, as my untreated flu once progressed into a severe chest infection. If you experience any breathing difficulty, heavy chest tightness, or extreme dizziness, please seek immediate medical attention at a clinic.

I had the flu last season and surprisingly never got a fever, just a running nose and major fatigue. My doctor explained that sometimes your body fights the virus without raising your temperature. Just rest up, drink lots of warm fluids, and get a professional opinion if you feel worse.

You can definitely have the flu without a fever, showing only cold symptoms and tiredness. The most practical thing is to take complete bed rest, drink warm water, and avoid self-medicating with strong antibiotics. If symptoms persist beyond 3-4 days, consult your local family doctor.

Not always! 🌸 You can definitely have the flu with just a scratchy throat and body fatigue. Just make sure to eat warm meals, stay cozy under your blanket, and check in with your doctor! 😊

No, a fever is not always present with the flu. You can have other symptoms like body aches, cough, and fatigue instead.

I completely understand how worrying it is when your symptoms don't match the classic textbook signs of flu. It is very common to have the flu without a fever, and your anxiety is totally valid. Try to stay calm, keep hydrated, and let a doctor check you to ease your mind.
