Is there a test for tb?

I've had a cough for a really long time, and I'm also feeling very tired and losing weight. My family is worried it might be TB. Is there a test for TB that I can get done to know if that's what it is?

There are highly reliable tests for TB, including sputum microscopy, molecular tests like GeneXpert, and chest X-rays. A blood test called IGRA or a Mantoux skin test might also be used depending on the case. It is best to consult a physician who can recommend the correct test based on your symptoms.

Yes, testing for TB is very common and straightforward in India. You can get a sputum test or a chest X-ray done at any government hospital or local diagnostic lab, and it is quite affordable. If you have a cough for more than two weeks, please go get it checked immediately.

Of course there are tests, they won't just guess by looking at your cough! They usually ask for a sputum sample or a quick chest X-ray to see what is cooking inside. It is a very routine thing, so just get it done and stop coughing like a Bollywood hero.

Yes, doctors usually recommend a sputum test, blood tests, or a chest X-ray to diagnose TB. Having faced my own health struggles with PCOS, I know how important it is to get proper tests done instead of guessing. Please take care and visit a doctor to get the right test done safely.

Hey, yeah, my roommate had a really bad cough last semester and the doctor made him do a sputum test and a chest X-ray to check for TB. It turned out to be normal, but the process was pretty quick and simple. Don't worry, just visit a clinic and they will guide you.
