Is there a test for kidney stones?

My father has been having a lot of pain in his back and side lately, and someone mentioned it could be kidney stones. Is there any specific test to confirm if it's actually kidney stones? We want to know for sure before starting any treatment.

Oh, trust me, the stone itself is the biggest test of your patience! But medically, an ultrasound is the easiest way to catch these little troublemakers. Just go to a doc and get a scan done, it is super quick and then you can plan to flush it out with lots of water.

Yes, absolutely. Usually, a simple ultrasound of the abdomen or a CT scan is done to locate kidney stones, and sometimes doctors also recommend basic urine and blood tests to check kidney function. I track my daily water intake on my fitness app now because staying hydrated is the best way to prevent them from coming back.

Look, simple clear-cut matter. If you have severe lower back or side pain, go to a clinic and get an ultrasound or non-contrast CT scan done. Don't waste time trying home remedies first without knowing the stone size. Get the report, show it to a doctor, and they will tell you what to do next.

I completely understand how stressful this waiting and wondering phase can be, as I used to panic over every little pain. Yes, there are very accurate tests like an ultrasound or a CT scan that can pinpoint everything clearly. Once you get the test done, you will feel so much lighter and in control of your health.

Honestly, writing this at 3 AM because my sleep cycle is totally ruined, but yes, there are tests. An ultrasound or a CT scan is what the doctor ordered for me last year. Don't sit and Google all night like me, just get the scan done and sleep peacefully.

Yes, there are a few simple tests! 😊 Usually, doctors ask for an ultrasound of the stomach or a quick CT scan to see the exact size. Sometimes a simple urine test is also done. It is very common and easily manageable, so don't worry at all! 👍
