Is there a sleep timer on windows?

Sometimes I fall asleep while watching movies on my laptop, and it keeps running all night. I was wondering if there's a setting on Windows that can automatically turn off my laptop after a certain time, like a sleep timer on a TV?

I set this up daily so my PC doesn't run all night. Press Win+R, type 'shutdown -s -t 3600' for a 1-hour timer, and press enter. Works like a charm every time without needing any heavy third-party software.

Windows doesn't have a simple one-click button, but you can easily use the Command Prompt. Just type 'shutdown -s -t' followed by the time in seconds. It is very reliable once you try it once or twice.

I literally figured this out yesterday because my laptop battery was draining completely overnight. I just set the system sleep setting to 1 hour in the Windows Power & Sleep settings. No more overnight battery drain!

Yes, you can configure your computer to turn off automatically in the settings. But please do not keep working late on these screens, as it strains your eyes. A glass of warm water before resting is much better for your health.

Honestly, I just use the built-in Windows Command Prompt trick to shut my laptop down when I watch shows late. It helps me control my screen time and sleep on time, which has been great for my routine.

I always worry about blue light keeping me awake, so turning off the laptop is a must. If the command line is too stressful, you can look at the power settings to put the PC to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity.
