Is there a difference between fever blisters and cold sores?

I sometimes get these small, painful sores around my mouth, especially when I'm stressed. My friend called them 'fever blisters', but I've also heard the term 'cold sores'. Are they the same thing, or is there a difference between fever blisters and cold sores?

I totally get it, those painful blisters near the lips are so embarrassing and annoying when you have to go out. Actually, fever blisters and cold sores are the exact same thing, both caused by the herpes simplex virus. They usually clear up on their own.

They are the same condition. If you have a busy week at work, don't wait for them to heal naturally; just consult a doctor online and get a prescription for an antiviral pill to speed up the recovery process.

Medically speaking, there is no difference; they are different names for the same viral infection. You can apply an over-the-counter antiviral cream as soon as you feel that tingling sensation. Keep the area clean and don't pick at them.

They are the same thing, often triggered by stress or a weak immune system. I notice that keeping up with my daily jog and eating nutrient-rich foods keeps my immunity high and prevents these sore breakouts altogether.

They are identical. From my experience of dealing with them for years, the best tip is to avoid sharing towels or lip balms when you have a flare-up because it is highly contagious. Use ice to reduce the swelling in the first stage.

Haan na, actually both are the same, log bas alag naam use karte hain. It is very common when you have a low-grade fever or cold. Just apply a soothing cream and it goes away in a week.

In my experience, they are identical sores that pop up whenever my body is exhausted or after a heavy fever. I just apply some petroleum jelly to keep it moist and avoid touching it, and it usually heals fine.
