Is the ice bucket challenge for mental health?

I remember the Ice Bucket Challenge was a big trend a few years ago. Everyone was doing it to raise awareness for ALS. But then I heard some people saying it was also about mental health awareness. Was the Ice Bucket Challenge for mental health too, or just ALS?

From what I remember, the ice bucket challenge was mainly for ALS awareness and funding research, not specifically mental health. I participated because my friend's uncle had ALS. It was just a fun way to spread awareness at that time.

No, the ice bucket challenge was explicitly created to raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disease. It went viral years ago. While cold exposure can have some mood-boosting effects, that wasn't its primary purpose. If you're looking for mental health support, there are many better, more sustained strategies.

Arey nahi, that was for ALS, a different disease. For mental health, simpler things like going for a walk, talking to friends, or just listening to some good music can really help. Don't need to pour ice water on yourself for that! Focus on daily habits.

Oh, I remember seeing that! I thought it was just a random viral thing. So it was for ALS, not mental health? Good to know, I was always a bit confused about its actual purpose.

Na bhai, ice bucket challenge ALS ke liye tha, not for mental health. Woh toh ek alag hi campaign tha. Agar mental health ki baat hai, toh you should try talking to someone or maybe meditation. Kaafi helpful hota hai.
