Is the dysfunctional kidey removed in a kidney transplant?

My cousin is going for a kidney transplant soon. I was curious, do they actually remove the diseased kidney, or do they just add the new one? It's a big operation, so I'm trying to understand.

Beta, these are very serious medical matters. From what I've heard from people who've gone through this, sometimes they remove the diseased kidney, sometimes they don't, it depends on the condition. Home remedies are for small issues, not for kidney failure. For such a big surgery, only listen to what the doctors in the hospital tell you. They know best.

Managing diabetes means constantly being aware of my kidneys. For a transplant, generally, the old, dysfunctional kidneys are often left in place unless they are causing complications like infection or uncontrolled high blood pressure. The new kidney is usually placed in a different spot. This is a complex surgery and my doctor always stresses the importance of following medical advice carefully, especially regarding diet after transplant.

For something as serious as a kidney transplant, you absolutely need to consult directly with the specialists. While I usually advocate for natural health, for organ failure, medical intervention is paramount. Generally, they leave the old kidneys unless there's a specific problem like infection, and they implant the new one elsewhere. Please speak to the doctors, they will explain everything clearly.

This is a critical medical procedure, so clarity is important. In most kidney transplants, the native dysfunctional kidneys are actually not removed unless there's a specific medical reason. The new kidney is typically placed in the lower abdomen. Always get precise information from the transplant team; they're the experts. Time is of the essence in these cases.

That's a pretty specific question! From what I've heard and seen in some medical documentaries, usually, they leave the old kidneys in, even if they're not working well, unless there's a big problem. The new kidney just gets tucked in somewhere else. It's not like changing a car part, lol. But yeah, for actual info, docs are the go-to.

Haha, I wish life's problems could be solved by just uninstalling the dysfunctional part! But for kidneys, it's a bit more nuanced. Usually, they don't remove the old one unless it's really causing trouble. The new one just gets a new comfy spot. But please, don't take medical advice from a random guy on the internet, go talk to a real doctor! My 'medical expertise' ends at finding the closest chaat stall.

As someone managing a chronic condition, I know how important accurate information is for complex medical issues. For kidney transplants, it's not always a removal of the old kidney. Often, the new one is placed in a different area, and the old ones are only removed if they are causing issues. It's a very specific decision made by the medical team, so please discuss all your questions with them openly.
