Is tendonitis a form of arthritis?

My doctor said I have tendonitis in my shoulder, and I thought it was just inflammation. My friend said it's related to arthritis. Are they the same thing, or is tendonitis a type of arthritis?

No, tendonitis is not arthritis. Arthritis is inflammation of joints, while tendonitis is inflammation of tendons. They are different conditions, though both cause pain and inflammation. If you have pain, see a doctor, don't self-diagnose.

I just recovered from tendonitis in my shoulder, and my physiotherapist explained it clearly. He said tendonitis is when your tendons get inflamed, usually from overuse. Arthritis is inflammation in the joints themselves. So no, they are distinct. Recovery for tendonitis usually involves rest, ice, and specific exercises.

Nah, they're different. My dad has arthritis in his knees, and I got tendonitis in my wrist from too much gaming lol. The physio told me arthritis is more about the joint, and tendonitis is the connective tissue. Both hurt like hell though, so get it checked out.

Arey nahi, tendonitis arthritis jaisa nahi hai, ho na? Arthritis toh joints mein problem hoti hai. Aur tendonitis matlab muscles ko bone se jo tissue jodte hain, unmein swelling aa jaati hai. Toh alag alag conditions hain. Pain ho toh doctor ko dikhana hi chahiye.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice. But from what I experienced with my own elbow pain, they explained that tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon. Arthritis is joint inflammation. So they are usually considered separate issues. Best to confirm with a specialist.
