Is tb chronic?

My grandfather had TB when he was young, and he said it was a long battle. I'm wondering if TB is considered a chronic condition, something that stays with you?

TB can be chronic, especially if not treated properly or if it's latent. It's not always a quick illness. Maintaining good health with exercise and diet helps, but for actual TB, doctor's treatment is primary.

Haan, if not treated, it can become chronic. Matlab lambi bimari. Abhi humare umar mein toh sab kuch hi chronic lagta hai, but TB is seriously chronic if you don't take care. So, meds are important!

Yes, TB is generally considered a chronic condition if it's active and requires a long course of treatment, typically 6-9 months. It's not something that goes away quickly. So, patience and adherence to medication are key.

I always worry when I hear 'chronic'. Does that mean it never really goes away? I heard TB needs really long treatment, which sounds chronic to me. Has anyone here had experience with it becoming chronic despite treatment?

TB can manifest as both latent (non-active) and active disease. Active TB is indeed considered a chronic infectious disease due to its prolonged treatment duration. It requires consistent medical supervision, so consulting a doctor is paramount.

Haan, beta, agar TB ka ilaaj theek se na kiya jaaye toh yeh purani bimari ban jaati hai. Lambe samay tak dawai leni padti hai. Ghar ke nuskhe immunity ke liye theek hain, par isme toh doctor ki dawa hi asli kaam karegi.
