Is sushi ok for diabetics?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes. I really enjoy eating sushi with my family on special occasions. I was wondering if sushi is okay for diabetics, or if I should avoid it completely?

Arre beti, for diabetics, you have to be careful with the rice, no? Sushi has a lot of that white rice, and they sometimes add sugar to it also. Fish is good, but rice should be controlled. Best to eat a little less of it only.

It's tricky, honestly. The main issue is the white rice used in sushi, which can quickly convert to sugar. If you really want sushi, maybe opt for sashimi (just fish) or rolls with very little rice. Always check your blood sugar after to see how it affects you.

Yaar, actually most sushi has this vinegared rice which has sugar in it. Plus, the quantity of rice in one roll can be quite high. So, for diabetics, it's not ideal. Better to go for sashimi options or just a few pieces, don't overdo it. Aur haan, always check your levels.

Yeah, the rice content is the main concern for diabetics. Better to choose sashimi or low-rice options.

Ho na, it's a bit complicated for diabetics. The rice in sushi, even though it's sticky, can still raise blood sugar levels quickly. Some sauces also have hidden sugars. So, you have to be very selective if you do decide to have some. Maybe a small portion only, haan na?
