Is stomach cancer hereditary?

My father's side of the family has a history of different cancers, and now my sister is worried about stomach cancer specifically. Is this something that can run in families, like other cancers?

My grandfather had stomach issues, and now every time I get a bad stomach ache, I start worrying if it is hereditary. Does anyone else get super anxious about family medical history like this? How do you stop overthinking it?

I had severe gastric ulcers that turned quite bad because I delayed my treatment. Please don't take any chances with stomach health. If there is a history of cancer in your family, go meet a gastroenterologist and get an endoscopy done to be absolutely safe.

Excuse me, I am quite new to this discussion and don't know much about genetic risks. Is there a specific DNA test that doctors recommend for stomach issues if someone in the family had it? Sorry if this is a basic question, just trying to understand.

In our family, elders say that eating clean, home-cooked food prevents most genetic illnesses. But of course, science is important too. If you are worried about family history, a simple consultation with a specialist will give you the most accurate answers.

Just like diabetes, some cancers can have genetic links, but our daily lifestyle and food choices also matter a lot. I have to manage my sugar strictly with high-fiber food. For cancer risks, getting regular screenings if it runs in the family is the best preventive step.

Only a small percentage of stomach cancers are hereditary. It's best to consult an oncologist for genetic risk queries.

Honestly, genetics might play a small part, but our love for spicy street food and outside pickles also messes up our stomach big time! I am trying to cut down on heavy spices just to keep my gut happy. Balance is everything, guys.
