Is stage 4 colon cancer a death sentence?

My neighbour has just been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It's a very difficult situation for them. Is this truly considered a death sentence, or are there treatments that can extend life significantly?

No way! People fight this and win all the time. Don't pack your bags yet, just let the doctors work their magic and keep eating your veggies.

Beta, it is a big challenge but not the end. Eat simple, home-cooked food like khichdi and have faith in the doctors' treatment.
