Is sleep apnea a chronic illness?

My husband has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and the doctor mentioned it's something he'll have to manage for a long time. Does this mean sleep apnea is considered a chronic illness? I'm trying to understand more about his condition.

I've had a friend dealing with sleep apnea for years, and it definitely requires ongoing management. From what I've seen, it's not something that just goes away. They have to use a machine every night.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, sleep apnea signifies an imbalance that needs continuous care. It is not something that resolves quickly. Regular practice of specific pranayama and lifestyle adjustments can offer support alongside medical treatment.

I ignored my snoring and daytime tiredness for too long, thinking it was just 'old age'. Turns out, it was sleep apnea, and it led to other issues. Please, if you suspect it, get yourself checked by a doctor quickly. It needs ongoing care, so yes, it's chronic.

My fitness tracker actually alerted me to my irregular sleep patterns, which led me to research sleep apnea. It's classified as a chronic condition because it requires continuous management, often with devices like CPAP, to maintain healthy breathing during sleep.
