Is skin cancer deadly?

I'm 70 years old, and my skin has developed a few spots over the years. My son is pushing me to get them checked, and he keeps mentioning skin cancer. Is skin cancer usually a deadly condition, or does it depend on the type?

Honestly, any cancer can be serious if not caught early. I have high BP, so I know how important regular checkups and a good lifestyle are. Early detection is key for most things, skin cancer included.

You know, instead of asking here, it's best to consult a specialist. My hospital always advises asking the doctor clearly about prognosis and treatment options. They can give you the most accurate info.

Like my thyroid condition, many health issues need regular monitoring. Skin cancer's severity depends a lot on the type and how advanced it is. So, if there's any suspicion, regular tests and doctor follow-ups are crucial.

It's natural to worry about this. I've heard that if it's detected early, many skin cancers are very treatable. But please, if you're concerned about a specific spot, don't delay seeing a dermatologist. Better safe than sorry!

I completely understand why you'd ask this, the fear can be really overwhelming when you hear the word 'cancer'. For me, the anxiety was always worse than the actual problem. It's best to talk to a doctor for proper diagnosis and peace of mind.

Don't jump to conclusions, yaar. While cancer is serious, skin cancer, especially certain types, is often quite manageable if caught early. The main thing is to be vigilant about changes in your skin and get them checked by a doctor without fear.
