Is sex good for diabetes type 2?

I've recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and I'm trying to understand how it affects all aspects of life. I'm a bit concerned about my marriage. Does having sex have any benefits for someone with diabetes type 2?

Good for type 2 diabetes? I mean, it's exercise, right? Maybe it counts towards my daily step goal. Haha. On a serious note, it's good for stress relief and relationships, which can indirectly help with managing chronic conditions. But ask your doc if any physical limitations exist.

Physical activity generally helps manage type 2 diabetes, and sex is definitely a form of physical activity! It can also reduce stress, which is good for blood sugar. Of course, ensure there are no specific health issues or risks that your doctor has advised against.

My doctor at Apollo says that maintaining an active lifestyle and reducing stress is beneficial for type 2 diabetes. Sex can contribute to both. However, any patient with specific complications should consult their endocrinologist. It's always best to get clear advice from your specialist.

For any chronic condition like type 2 diabetes, discussions about physical activity, including sexual activity, should always be with your doctor. They can assess your individual health status, potential risks, and ensure it's safe for you. Don't rely on general advice here.

Oh, beta, a good married life is also important for peace of mind. For diabetes, doctors always say to stay active and happy. So, if your sugar is under control and your doctor has not said anything against it, then it is good for your overall well-being. Don't make it a stress point.

When I first got diagnosed with type 2, I panicked about everything, including this. But my doctor assured me that for most people with controlled diabetes, it's absolutely fine and even healthy for well-being. Don't let the diagnosis stop your life, just manage it well and talk to your doc.
