Is semolina good for diabetics?

My mother has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and we're adjusting her diet. I was wondering if semolina is good for diabetics, or should we avoid it?

For diabetics, semolina (suji) is tricky. It's not a go-to food. Practical solution is to use it sparingly and always in combination with lots of veggies or high-fiber flours. If you're making upma, load it with greens and use minimal suji. Or switch to whole wheat suji if you can find it. Moderation is key.

Oh, semolina! Another one of those delicious things that gives my sugar levels a scare. Honestly, no, it's not 'good' for diabetics in large quantities. It's high in carbs. Best to pretend it doesn't exist, or have it once in a blue moon and then walk for an hour. This health thing is a full-time job, haan?

I had complications from uncontrolled sugar, so I'm very cautious. Semolina (suji) is not recommended freely for diabetics as it can cause blood sugar spikes. Always check with your doctor or dietician. They will tell you precise portion sizes, if at all, based on your individual sugar control. Don't risk it without expert advice.

Semolina, yani suji, is made from wheat, ho na? So it has carbs. Diabetics should be careful with it. Not exactly 'good,' but if you eat in very small portions and maybe mix it with more fiber, like vegetables, it might be okay sometimes. But definitely check with your doctor, haan na?

I get so anxious when thinking about food for diabetics! Is semolina really that bad? I always thought it was somewhat light. Has anyone here had it and seen their sugar levels spike really high? I'm worried about making the wrong choices for my elderly father.

Yaar, semolina (suji) is actually a refined grain, right? So it gets absorbed pretty fast and can cause blood sugar spikes for diabetics. Not the best option, honestly. Better to stick to whole grains like oats or bajra. Agar khana hi hai toh thoda sa, once in a while, aur with lots of fiber.

As a vegetarian who focuses on diet, I'd say semolina needs careful consideration for diabetics. It's a processed grain and can have a higher glycemic index. It's far better to opt for whole grains like ragi, jowar, or bajra which are rich in fiber and help regulate blood sugar. If using semolina, always ensure it's whole wheat and portion-controlled.

From a fitness and health perspective, semolina is a quick-digesting carb. For diabetics, this means it can spike blood sugar fast. So, it's not ideal. Focus on complex carbohydrates like oats, quinoa, or millets which have more fiber and a lower glycemic index. Portion control and balancing with protein and healthy fats are crucial, but better to choose healthier carb sources first.

My family often uses semolina for idli and dosa, but for diabetics, it's not the best. It's a refined grain and can cause blood sugar to rise quickly. My doctor always advises whole grains for diabetics. If you must have it, take very small portions and always consult your doctor or a dietician for proper guidance on how to fit it into your diet safely.

For my child, who is diabetic, we've learned to manage every carbohydrate. Semolina, or suji, is a carb, so it will affect blood sugar. It's not something we would consider 'good' for daily consumption. If used, it must be in very small, controlled portions, and always balanced with protein and fat to minimize spikes. Consult a dietician for proper meal planning.

Haan, honestly, semolina (suji) is generally not considered the best for diabetics. It's made from wheat and can cause your sugar levels to go up quickly, na. Better to have atta ka roti or other whole grains. Thoda sa kabhi-kabhi theek hai, but not regularly.

I'm new to understanding diabetes and diet. So semolina is not ideal? What about coarse semolina compared to fine? Is there a big difference in how it affects blood sugar? Just trying to learn more.

Oh my god, food choices for diabetics always make me so anxious! Semolina can be a problematic one because it's refined and has a higher glycemic index than whole grains. I always worry about hidden sugars or high-carb foods. It's best to either strictly limit it or choose high-fiber alternatives. Please consult a dietician for a proper meal plan!

Nah, not really 'good' for diabetics. I mean, it's a carb, so it'll raise blood sugar. My friend's mom is diabetic and she avoids suji upma most of the time. If you crave it, super small portion and make sure it's packed with veggies to balance it out.

Beta, semolina, which is suji, is made from wheat. For sugar patients, it is better to eat things that don't make the sugar go up fast. Suji can do that. So it is not very good. Eat it very little, or better, choose other grains. Always ask the doctor ji for sure.
