Is salicylic acid good for dandruff?

I've been struggling with dandruff for a while, and it's quite irritating. Someone at the salon suggested a shampoo with salicylic acid. Does salicylic acid actually help with dandruff, or are there better options?

Salicylic acid can be effective for dandruff, but it's important to know the type of dandruff you have. Sometimes it's just dry scalp, sometimes it's fungal. Using the wrong product can make it worse. Please consult a dermatologist before starting any treatment. They can diagnose properly.

Haan ji, salicylic acid ke shampoos milte hain market mein. Maine bhi use kiya hai thoda. It helps to exfoliate the scalp and remove flakes. But you have to use it regularly for a while to see results. For some, it works well, for some, not so much. Try a small bottle first.

Beta, for dandruff, first try simple things like neem oil massage or curd on the scalp. Sometimes these chemical things can be too harsh. But if those don't work, then salicylic acid can help to clear the flakes. Just don't overuse it, and if it irritates, stop immediately. Ghar ke nuskhe are always safe, but doctor is also good.

My friend used a shampoo with salicylic acid for her stubborn dandruff, and it really helped her. She said it reduced the flakiness a lot. But everyone's scalp is different, so what worked for her might not be the same for you. I just wanted to share her positive experience.

My dermatologist recommended a salicylic acid shampoo for my dandruff that was caused by product buildup and flaky scalp. She explained that it helps break down the dead skin cells and oil, allowing them to wash away easily. It's a keratolytic agent. For fungal dandruff, she said I'd need something else, like ketoconazole. So it depends on the cause.

As someone who has to be really mindful about what goes on my skin and hair due to PCOS, I'd say salicylic acid can be effective for dandruff if it's the right type. It exfoliates the scalp. But some people find it drying. It's best to start with a lower concentration and see how your scalp reacts, or even better, ask a dermatologist before jumping in.

Haan yaar, salicylic acid wale shampoos work for many. It helps to loosen those flakes, no? My cousin had bad dandruff, and her doc gave her a salicylic acid shampoo, and actually, it made a difference. But some people find it a bit strong. So maybe patch test first or consult a doc.
