Is rheumatoid arthritis hereditary disease?

My wife's aunt and grandmother both had rheumatoid arthritis. We are thinking of having kids soon, and this is a worry for us. Is rheumatoid arthritis a hereditary disease that can be passed on?

It can run in families, but please be careful. My mother had it and I ignored my own joint pain for too long, which led to severe joint damage and complications. If you have a family history and feel any stiffness, please consult a rheumatologist immediately.

My mom has RA, but my doctor told me it's not a direct hand-me-down disease. It just means I need to be a bit careful with my lifestyle. If you're worrying about it, just stay active and don't stress too much about the hereditary tag.

When my sister was diagnosed at Apollo, the doctors explicitly told us it is not a direct hereditary disease. It only increases your genetic susceptibility slightly. Honestly, it's best to discuss your family tree directly with a specialist to clear all doubts.

Medical research suggests that while genetics contribute to the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis, it is not a purely hereditary disease. Environmental factors like smoking or infection often act as triggers. Always consult a physician for personalized guidance.

With our busy work schedules, worrying about genetic risks is just added stress. Yes, there's a minor hereditary link, but it's not a certainty. Focus on regular health checkups and maintaining a balanced life instead of overthinking it.

Having PCOS, I know how frustrating genetic and hormonal issues can be. RA is somewhat similar where genes play a part, but it's not a direct inheritance. Just monitor your health gently and seek professional medical advice if you notice any persistent symptoms.

I was diagnosed last year and was so worried I would pass it to my son. But after going through therapy and getting my inflammation levels down, my doctor cleared my doubts. It's not strictly hereditary, so don't let that fear consume you.
