Is rheumatoid arthritis contagious?

My elder sister has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis recently, and we visit her often. My mother is worried if it can spread to us, especially the kids. Can rheumatoid arthritis be contagious, like a normal flu?

No, it is absolutely not contagious! It's an autoimmune issue, so you can't catch it from someone. I focus heavily on keeping an anti-inflammatory vegetarian diet with lots of turmeric and ginger to manage my own joint health. Definitely consult a nutritionist to see what foods suit your body best.

Beta, don't worry, rheumatoid arthritis does not spread from one person to another by sitting together or sharing food. It is inside the body's own system. You can drink warm water with a little methi seeds in the morning to help with joint stiffness, but please make sure you show a good doctor for proper treatment.

I completely understand why you're asking this, health questions can make anyone anxious. Honestly, I used to panic and google everything too! But rest assured, rheumatoid arthritis is not infectious at all, so you cannot catch it or give it to anyone. Take a deep breath, you are totally safe.

No, it's not contagious at all. It's an autoimmune disorder where your own immune system attacks your joints, not some viral infection. You don't need to isolate or worry about catching it from family members. Just get a proper diagnosis from a rheumatologist if you're experiencing pain.

It's definitely not contagious, so relax on that front. Since it's a chronic joint issue, staying active is super key. I always suggest a light walk or some basic stretching if your doc clears you for it. Keeping the joints moving really helps with the stiffness!

No bro, not contagious at all. My uncle has it, and we live in the same house, perfectly fine. It's just his body's internal immune system playing up. If you are feeling joint pains, just go get a blood test done instead of stressing about catching it.
