Is rheumatoid arthritis a chronic illness?

My cousin has been suffering from a lot of joint pain and swelling. The doctor suspects rheumatoid arthritis. We are all quite worried. Is rheumatoid arthritis a chronic illness? What does that even mean for her future?

Yes, it is a chronic autoimmune illness. Keeping a clean, anti-inflammatory diet and doing light, regular strength training really helps in keeping the joints mobile and reducing pain over time.

Yes, it is chronic. Since the treatment and routine blood tests like ESR and CRP go on for years, I highly recommend getting a good health insurance policy that covers outpatient consults and chronic illnesses.

Yes, it is a long-term illness. In my experience, regular practice of gentle joint movements (Sukshma Vyayama) and deep pranayama helps immensely in keeping the stiffness away naturally.

Yes, it’s a chronic guest that refuses to leave your house! But hey, with the right doctor, you can put this guest on sleep mode and live your life fully.

Yes, it is a systemic chronic inflammatory disorder. My mother's rheumatologist explained that while there is no permanent cure, early aggressive treatment with DMARDs can lead to clinical remission.

Yes, it is chronic. Just like we manage diabetes with constant care and watching our sugar intake, RA patients have to be very careful with their diet and medications for life.

Haan bacha, ye bimaari jaldi peecha nahi chhodti, saalon saal chalti hai. Par achhe doctor se dawa khate rahoge toh koi pareshani nahi hogi, sab bhala hoga.
