Is rem sleep the best sleep?

My cousin is obsessed with optimizing his sleep and claims REM sleep is the absolute best sleep you can get. Is REM sleep truly the 'best' type of sleep for us, or are other stages equally vital? I want to know if I should focus on increasing my REM sleep.

It is not the 'best' because deep sleep is also equally important for your physical health. Your body needs both stages to function properly.

There is no single 'best' stage in a sleep cycle. My physician explained that deep sleep is crucial for physical tissue repair and immunity, while REM sleep handles cognitive function and emotional balance. You need a healthy mix of both stages for complete recovery.

In fitness, we value deep sleep a lot because that is when muscle recovery and hormone release actually happen. But REM is also key for mental focus during workouts. A balanced diet and regular exercise naturally help your body get the right amount of both.

Hey bro, don't stress too much about which stage is the absolute best. Your body is smart enough to give you exactly what you need when you sleep. Just focus on sleeping comfortably for 7 to 8 hours every night.

For me, the best sleep is the one where I dream of a bottomless buffet! But jokes aside, REM is great for dreaming and keeping the brain sharp, while deep sleep helps you digest all that good food. You definitely need both.

Don't fall for internet trends that tell you to maximize one specific sleep stage. Your sleep quality depends on overall health. If you are waking up tired constantly, skip the online advice and consult a proper sleep doctor.

I tried everything from lavender oil to chamomile tea to improve my sleep. I learned that you cannot force just one type of sleep; both REM and deep sleep are necessary. A warm glass of milk before bed is a simple way to improve your overall sleep quality.

Haan, log sochte hain ki REM hi sab kuch hai, par aisa nahi hai na. Dono stages zaroori hain. Deep sleep ke bina thakan nahi jayegi aur REM ke bina dimaag thaka rahega. Isliye dono ka balance hona sabse best hai.
