Is reading good for mental health?

I've been feeling quite stressed with work lately, and a colleague suggested I pick up reading to relax. I usually just watch TV. Can reading actually help with mental health, or is it just a hobby?

Reading is scientifically proven to reduce cortisol levels and improve cognitive function. While it is an excellent coping mechanism for mild stress, please remember it cannot replace professional therapy if you are dealing with severe mental health issues.

Reading is literally the best escape from daily stress! Just grab a light novel and cozy up, don't stress too much about finishing it. It really helps calm the mind after a chaotic day.

Kitabein padhne se mann ko bahut shanti milti hai. Humare zamane me hum kahaniyaan padhte the aur saara din achha nikalta tha. Aap bhi zaroor thoda samay nikal kar padha karein.

Reading is great for mental relaxation, but try combining it with some physical activity like a morning walk. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. If your schedule allows, read during your commute or walking breaks.

Whenever you feel overwhelmed, just put your phone away and read a few pages of a book. It helps ground your thoughts beautifully. Take care of yourself, and don't let the daily grind get to you.

For me, reading a good book with a hot cup of chai and some biscuits is pure therapy. It keeps my mind distracted from random late-night snacking cravings too. It's a win-win for both mind and stomach!

Reading instead of scrolling reels before sleeping has actually fixed my attention span. It's super chill and helps me wind down without getting stressed about exams. Definitely try it out guys.

Reading holy books or inspiring literature in the morning keeps your thoughts positive throughout the day. It is a traditional way to maintain mental peace. Along with reading, ensure you sleep on time and drink warm milk before bed.

I went through a very dark phase of anxiety last year, and reading fiction really helped me recover. It gave my overactive brain a safe place to rest away from my own thoughts. I highly recommend making it a daily habit.

Honestly, finding time to read is hard with corporate jobs, but even 10 minutes before sleeping makes a difference. It reduces screen time, which dramatically improves sleep quality. Definitely try to fit it into your routine.
