Is raw honey diabetic friendly?

My husband has diabetes, and we are always looking for healthier alternatives to sugar. A neighbor suggested using raw honey. Is raw honey suitable for diabetics, or should we avoid it completely?

At the end of the day, honey is still sugar and will affect your blood glucose. Even if you work out hard and lift weights, you have to track these carbs. It might be slightly better than white sugar, but it's not a free pass.

Honey is pure and natural, but in yoga we believe in absolute balance. For diabetes, even raw honey must be used with extreme caution as it is very concentrated. A drop or two is fine occasionally, but please listen to your body.

My uncle tried replacing his morning tea sugar with raw honey thinking it's safe. Actually, his sugar levels went up quite a bit within a week. He had to stop it completely, so I'd say be very careful.

My teenage son has Type 1 and we tried raw honey once thinking it was safe. It caused a pretty rapid spike just like normal sugar did. I'd suggest keeping a close eye on the glucose monitor if you decide to try it.

If your doctor permits a little bit of raw honey, make sure you pair it with some physical activity. Going for a quick 20-minute brisk walk after consuming any sweet helps manage the insulin spike. Just don't make it a regular habit.

Haan, honey natural toh hai par sugar toh sugar hi haina. Glucose spike toh karega hi karega agar zyada loge. Try karo ki avoids hi karo, ya phir ek baar apney doctor se pakka pooch lo.
