Is psoriatic arthritis painful?

I've been experiencing significant pain in my joints, along with my existing psoriasis. The doctor thinks it might be psoriatic arthritis. I'm trying to prepare myself for what's ahead, so I wanted to ask, is psoriatic arthritis painful to live with?

Honestly, yes, it can be extremely painful and can really affect your work productivity. The morning stiffness is the hardest part when you are trying to rush to office. Don't push through the pain; speak to a doctor immediately to manage it so you can work comfortably.

For me, the pain was quite sharp, especially in my knees and lower back. Some days were okay, but flare-ups made even walking to the kitchen difficult. Getting on a proper treatment plan was the only thing that brought the pain down to a tolerable level.

It is incredibly painful, and honestly, the emotional toll of dealing with daily pain is even worse. I used to cry because of how much my fingers and back hurt. Just know that your pain is real and valid, and you don't have to suffer silently—reach out for medical help.

Yes, my dear, it can cause significant joint pain and swelling. I have seen many people in this community struggle with it. The key is not to let the inflammation build up, so please see a rheumatologist who can give you the right medication to keep the pain under control.
