Is psoriatic arthritis genetic?

My brother was recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and he's worried about his kids developing it too. Our family has a history of psoriasis, but this joint issue is new. Is psoriatic arthritis genetic, or is it something that happens independently?

I can totally understand why you are asking this. Yes, there is a genetic connection, and it often runs in families. But just because someone in your family has it doesn't mean you will definitely get it too, so try not to worry too much.

Yes, genetics do play a role in this condition. If you are experiencing symptoms, it is always a good idea to discuss your family history with a doctor. Take care and I hope you get some clarity soon.

I tried so many ubtans and herbal juices thinking it was just a normal skin and joint issue, but later found out it runs in my father's side. Genetics definitely make you more prone to it. While home remedies can soothe some stiffness, a doctor's guidance is absolutely necessary for genetic conditions.

Haan na, genetics ka impact toh hota hai isme. My cousin also got it because our mama had psoriasis. But stress lene se symptoms aur badhte hain, so please consult a good doctor and stay relaxed.

Yes, genetics are a major factor in psoriatic arthritis. It is highly recommended to share your complete family health history with your rheumatologist for an accurate diagnosis.
