Is psoriatic arthritis a disability?

My joints have been giving me a lot of trouble lately, and my skin condition is also flaring up. The doctor mentioned psoriatic arthritis, and I'm concerned about how it might affect my work. Is psoriatic arthritis considered a disability?

Depending on the joint damage, it can qualify as a physical disability under certain medical guidelines. I highly recommend visiting a good rheumatology department and asking your doctor for a clear assessment.

It can be considered a disability if the joint pain gets very severe and limits your movement. But with today's great treatments, many people keep it under control and live super active lives!

It really can feel like a silent disability because people don't see the pain inside your joints. I struggled so much with feeling useless on bad days, but please know your pain is real and valid.

When my joint pain was at its peak last year, I felt completely disabled and couldn't even hold a pen. But after starting target therapy, my joints recovered beautifully and I am back to my normal life now.

Yes, severe joint damage from psoriatic arthritis can significantly limit daily mobility. I use joint-tracking and pain-log apps to monitor my daily movement and keep my rheumatologist updated.

If left unmanaged, it can definitely impair mobility. Keeping active with low-impact exercises like swimming and eating a clean diet can help preserve joint function and prevent it from becoming disabling.

In severe, untreated cases, it can lead to permanent joint issues. My elder brother always urges us to trust our specialist's medicines early rather than waiting until the pain makes daily tasks difficult.
