Is psoriasis a fungal infection?

My neighbor has some skin patches that look similar to what I've seen of psoriasis. She thinks it might be a fungal infection because it's itchy. Is psoriasis a fungal infection, or is it something completely different? I'm just trying to understand.

No, psoriasis isn't a fungus, it's actually an autoimmune issue. Keeping your overall immunity and fitness levels up through regular walks or light workouts can really help your body cope. Make sure to get a clear diagnosis first.

While coconut oil can soothe the dry skin, remember that psoriasis is not fungal. Since it's a chronic immune issue, natural oils only help with dryness. For actual medical management, you must see a skin doctor.

It is not fungal; it is an internal inflammatory response of the body. In my experience, regular practice of sheetali pranayama helps cool down the internal heat and reduces the scaling. Do consult a specialist alongside.

Maine toh daad-khujli ke liye bohot saare lep lagaye hain, par psoriasis bilkul alag hota hai. Ye koi fungal infection nahi hai jo thoda sa tube lagane se chala jaye. Iske liye dermatologist ki hi dawa kaam aati hai.

I totally get it, when the skin starts flaking, we immediately think it's a fungal issue. But psoriasis is actually an autoimmune condition. It's best to consult a dermatologist so you get the correct treatment.

I know how stressful it is to see red patches and wonder what's happening to your skin, I've spent sleepless nights googling this. Rest assured, psoriasis is not a fungal infection. Just visit a skin doctor to get the right treatment and peace of mind.
