Is psoriasis a form of herpes?

I saw some red patches on my skin and immediately got worried. Someone suggested it might be psoriasis, but then my friend joked it might be herpes. Is psoriasis a form of herpes? I'm quite confused and a little scared.

No, absolutely not. Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition where your skin cells grow too fast, whereas herpes is a viral infection. I've had psoriasis for years; it's completely non-contagious. Just focus on keeping your skin moisturized.

Nahi beta, ye dono bilkul alag bimariyan hain. Psoriasis chhoot ki bimari nahi hai, isse darne ki koi baat nahi. Aap kisi acche vaidya ya doctor se dikha lijiye, sab theek hoga.

Please get a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist. I once ignored a skin rash thinking it was just dry skin and it got so much worse. Don't guess between herpes or psoriasis, let a doctor confirm it.

No, they are completely unrelated. Herpes is sexually transmitted or caught via viral contact, while psoriasis is genetic and autoimmune. Don't mix up the two and panic unnecessary.

I can only tell you what my dermatologist told me when I was diagnosed with psoriasis. She said it is an autoimmune issue and not an infection like herpes. It's best to have a doctor check your skin directly.

I totally get it, skin rashes can look confusing and make us search for scary things online. But don't worry, psoriasis has nothing to do with herpes. Take care and consult a dermatologist to ease your mind.
