Is psoriasis a disability?

My cousin has very severe psoriasis that affects her daily life and work. We were discussing if it could be classified as a disability. So, I wanted to ask, is psoriasis a disability in India, or anywhere else for that matter?

Medically speaking, mild psoriasis isn't considered a disability. However, if it turns into severe psoriatic arthritis affecting your joint movements, it can be classified as disabling. It really depends on how severe your symptoms are.

Nahi beta, ye koi aisi disability nahi hai jisse aap kaam na kar sakein. Bas thoda dhyan rakhna padta hai skin ka. Himmat rakho, sahi dawa se ye kaabu mein rehta hai.

Honestly, emotionally it can feel like a huge burden and sometimes you just want to hide from the world. While it's not legally a disability for most, the mental toll is very real. I totally understand what you might be going through.

I was also wondering about this because my uncle has really bad patches on his hands. Does it also affect how people work in daily life? I hope it gets easier for anyone dealing with it.

It is not a disability, but rather an imbalance of the body systems. Regular pranayama and keeping the mind calm can significantly reduce the severity of the patches. Do not let it discourage your spirit.

Not at all! Psoriasis just means your skin is a bit extra sensitive. With the right care and positive vibes, you can do absolutely everything. Stay strong and keep smiling!

No, it's not a disability, but it definitely requires you to change your habits. Eating clean, anti-inflammatory vegetarian food helped me manage my skin flare-ups. A proper diet makes a massive difference.

My teenage daughter has psoriasis, and she goes to school and does everything normally. Yes, some days are painful when her skin is dry, but it doesn't stop her. With good moisturizers, it is very manageable.
