Is prune juice good for diabetics?

My blood sugar levels have been a bit high lately, and my neighbor recommended I try prune juice for better digestion. I'm diabetic, so I want to know if prune juice is actually good or if it will just spike my sugar. Should I avoid it?

My father tried drinking prune juice for his constipation, but we noticed his blood sugar level shot up significantly within an hour. Since then, we have shifted him to whole prunes instead of the juice, which seems much safer. That is just what we experienced at our home.

If you have a busy life, relying on bottled prune juice might seem like a quick fix for digestive issues, but it is highly risky for diabetes. A faster and safer alternative is to quickly mix a spoonful of isabgol (psyllium husk) in warm water at night. It takes two minutes and has zero sugar.

Look, I know how frustrating it is to manage diabetes and constipation together. But please avoid packaged fruit juices as they lack fiber and are packed with concentrated natural sugars. It is much safer to eat whole, fresh fruits or talk to your doctor about safe fiber supplements.

Please don't try to self-treat severe constipation with juices when you have diabetes. I once ignored my high sugar and tried random juices, which ended up making my condition much worse and landed me in the clinic. Get your blood sugar and digestion checked by a professional doctor immediately.

No, it is definitely not good. Juicing removes all the beneficial fiber, leaving you with a highly concentrated sugar liquid that will cause a massive insulin spike. If you are diabetic, stick to low glycemic whole fruits and skip the juices entirely.

Prune juice has a lot of natural sugars, so it might not be the best daily drink for diabetics! Whole prunes in small portions are a much better option to keep your tummy happy. Stay healthy and keep smiling! 😊

Beta, these bottled juices from the city markets are not good for sugar patients. It is much better to eat green vegetables and drink plenty of warm water. God bless you, please take care of your health and don't eat outside food.
