Is pregabalin good for arthritis pain?

My wife has severe arthritis and her current medication isn't giving her much relief. We heard about pregabalin for nerve pain, but is pregabalin also good specifically for arthritis pain?

I hope you get some relief from your pain soon. My father has arthritis too, and his doctor prescribed different medicines for his joints. Please consult a doctor for the right treatment.

Pregabalin is actually meant for nerve pain, not your typical joint pain from arthritis. You must get your joint pain properly checked by a rheumatologist. Self-medicating with nerve drugs can be quite risky.

For arthritis, regular hot water fermentation and mild stretching help a lot in daily life. Pregabalin is a strong prescription drug and might not even work for simple joint wear and tear. Better to spend on a good doctor's consult first.

Pregabalin is primarily for neuropathic pain, though sometimes doctors use it off-label if there is nerve involvement in your arthritis. However, it can cause dizziness and drowsiness. It is best to have an orthopedist evaluate you before starting this.

Yes, I agree with others that pregabalin is mostly for nerve issues, not basic arthritis. Do check with a doctor first.
